Creativity in Your Business
In 1986, Michael Ray and Rochelle Myers wrote Creativity in Business based upon a course offered at Stanford University. Since that time, numerous universities have implemented their own creativity courses. Authors such as Edward DeBono and Roger Van Oech have developed methods to enhance creativity for individuals and organizations.
Why? When the business climate is stable, business can afford to carry on as before. But in today’s uncertain climate, creativity is no longer a nice-to-have extra–it’s a survival skill. Creativity is now recognized as one of the most important ways an organization can create a competitive advantage. When employees aren’t thinking in new ways, businesses and organizations miss valuable opportunities for creating new ideas and solutions.
